About
Carleshia J. Jimerson is an Associate Attorney at Owenby Law, P.A., where she focuses on divorce cases, especially those involving paternity and child support contests, and estate planning. She is a Jacksonville native who is passionate about her community and providing the best possible outcome to her clients. Before joining the team at Owenby Law, P.A., she worked as an Assistant State Attorney in the Fourth Judicial Circuit. In following her passion to protect her community, she prosecuted thousands of cases from arrest to conviction. This experience has provided Carleshia with vast experience in the courtroom with numerous hearings and trials under her belt. Carleshia pulls from this vast experience in advising her clients with associated legal issues, including domestic violence, violations of injunctions, and other criminal offenses.
Prior to her practice as an attorney, Carleshia served as a certified legal intern at the Barry University School of Law Collaborative Family Law Clinic. In that program, Carleshia had the opportunity to represent indigent clients and come to mutually beneficial agreements without the need for expensive and combative litigation. A child of divorce herself, Carleshia tackles her cases with the intent to protect the children involved while maintaining professionalism and zealously advocating for her clients.
Carleshia completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Florida where she earned a B.A. in History with a minor in Classical Civilization. She later earned her law degree from Barry University School of Law. While at Barry, Carleshia developed a passion for oral advocacy and public service, earning a place on the Moot Court team, competing several times and serving as president of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program for the community.
Carleshia spends her free time restoring old furniture, crafting, exploring the great outdoors and traveling.
